If you’ve been following along on Instagram for any amount of time you know I’ve been searching for the perfect dining table for well over a year. Well, I finally found ‘the one’!

While we were gifted this table, this blog post is not sponsored and all thoughts are my own. I just wanted to share why I chose this table and what I love about it!

My list of must haves was long…

1. I wanted darker wood. We have a lot of white oak in our home so I wanted to bring in a new wood tone.
2. It needed to expand. More specifically it needed to expand in the middle and at least to 108″.
3. It had to be easy to clean, nothing super textured that would catch all the crumbs.
4. I wanted something transitional. Not too farmhouse-y, not too modern, not too mid-mod.
5. Under $2,000.
6. Shipping times less than 8 weeks.

Ok, so reading over the list I guess my list of demands was long. I’m so happy I held out because I truly do love our new table. One of my favorite features is that the leaf actually stores inside the dining table so I don’t have to worry about finding a place for it, or it getting damaged during storage.

I absolutely love with the metal band that goes around the top of the legs. It keeps the aesthetic feeling minimal, which you all know I’m a big fan of, while also making it feel a little special. I also appreciate the boarder that goes around the edge and the mitered corners. It’s just perfect! I made a video you can see how easy it is to expand here.

I included my design board so you can see where the room is headed. Curtains are up next, followed by a wall treatment and new dining chairs. Which chairs are your favorite? I can’t even believe we’re even thinking about Thanksgiving already!
