I finally wallpapered the water closet last week and am utterly obsessed to say the least! I had a momentary lapse of judgement (and panic) when it first arrived because it is big, and bold and busy, but is there a better place to have fun and get outside your comfort zone than a water closet or powder bath?! No, definitely not.
I added these beautiful Turkish bath towels in a chunky stripe to offset the organic lines of the wallpaper. I love a good juxtaposition. You can shop our towels here and use code LINDSEYP30 for 30% off your entire purchase, no exclusions.
Adding the wallpaper immediately took our bathroom up several notches. The space was honestly feeling kind of builder grade but now it feels intentional and special. I love how it compliments our color pallet and plays to both the cool tones of the marble and the warm tones of the vanity and brass lighting & plumbing. It’s hard to see but the chocolaty brown areas are almost a perfect match to the wood tones in here.
It took me an entire day to paper this room and midway through I wanted to quit. Haha! I am definitely not a professional and the inside corners proved to be a little tricky. After a quick YouTube tutorial we were back in business.
While I am obsessed with the final look, honestly I’m also kind of frustrated at how much waste there was. The repeat on the paper is a staggering 21″ so each time I started over on a new piece there was a TON of waste. I kept all the scraps and plan to use them as wrapping paper because the stuff isn’t cheap! I ended up running out and still need to order one more roll. In the meantime I taped some scraps together on the wall so I could give you guys a peek at the ‘final product’. Did you notice?! Haha!
I have a feeling it will likely stay this way until there is a sale and I can grab another roll. Cross all your fingers and toes for me that the new roll matches what’s already on the wall!
You can find out about my next wallpaper project here. Already dreading the install and so excited to see the final project. Stay tuned!
